She has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University.īonnie-Sue’s first novel, THE SMELL OF OTHER PEOPLE’S HOUSES, tells the stories of teenagers whose quirky, tragic and interconnected lives are shaped by an unsentimental environment - Alaska in the early ’70s. Her news stories and creative essays have appeared on NPR and in the Anchorage Daily News, High Country News, the Los Angeles Review and elsewhere.
